The Pulitzer Prize-winning play "Disgraced" explores a number of cultural themes including the nature of religious faith.
The centerpiece of the work includes four people sitting down for dinner, but the conversation doesn't feature small talk. Instead, the issues people are told not to discuss over a polite meal, like religion and politics, lead to some intense exchanges.
"Disgraced" is the latest production from Arizona Theatre Company and is continuing its run at the Herberger Theatre Center in downtown Phoenix. Elijah Alexander, who portrays Amir, the play's lead character, spoke about the production.
