There's another attempt in the works to pass a revenge porn law in Arizona.
The measure, which would target compromising or lewd photos taken during a relationship but used as revenge after a break up, would incorporate some proposals from the American Civil Liberties Union. The bill author, Chandler state Representative J.D. Mesnard, said these protections, like forcing prosecutors to show the person had a reasonable expectation of privacy, may make it easier to pass the law but feels they would make it less effective.
Mesnard's first version was approved in 2014, only to be upended by a lawsuit by the American Civil Liberties Union charging it was overly broad. Last year's fix passed the House but never got a Senate vote.
