Phoenix Police Vigilant About Stadium Security Ahead Of Cards Game

Law enforcement officials in the Valley say while there are no direct threats against Sunday night’s Cardinals game, they are keeping an eye on what’s happening around the world.

Police said after hosting the Super Bowl earlier this year, law enforcement believes it has a good plan for security at University of Phoenix Stadium. Glendale Officer Tracey Breeden said they’re keeping an eye on developments around the world in advance of the Sunday night contest.

“You will see increased staffing on Sunday and you’ll see some increased use of resources and some of those resources and staffing will be visible and some of those will be invisible,” she said.

Breeden said as always fans are the first line of defense and urged people to be aware of their surroundings, and report any problems.  She said law enforcement will be using many of the same resources they’ll call on this weekend for the college football championship game in January.
