There will be increased traffic at Sky Harbor International Airport because of Thanksgiving travel.

Sky Harbor is anticipating a 30 percent increase in travelers on Wednesday and Sunday this week. On a normal day, approximately 100,000 people come through the airport.

“It’ll be busy throughout the day. In the evening it’ll be especially busy. We are encouraging our travelers to use the 44th Street and Washington Phoenix Sky Train station as a place to pick up and drop off their parties,” Sky Harbor spokesperson Heather Lissner said.

There are three cell phone lots available where drivers can wait to pick up their travelers.

The airport is also offering two hours of free parking at the 44th Street and Washington station through Tuesday so drivers can take the Sky Train to help drop off or pick up their parties.
