Arizona Snowbowl Capitalizing On Early Snowfall In Flagstaff

Flagstaff has seen above average snowfall this year. More than 14 inches of snow has fallen in the area since October and one area company is taking advantage of it.

Jason Stratton with Arizona Snowbowl said while the snow was falling, their snowmaking crew was working to create even more snow. He said the combination has left an impact on the ski area.

“So, if you were going to put it into perspective, of the 80 percent of the trails open, over half of that is aided by the snow making system," said Stratton.

Snowbowl opened early this year on Nov. 20. It was their earliest opening date in 36 years.
