University of Arizona scientists will attempt to answer the question “what if” in fun, family-friendly ways at Biosphere 2.
The UA’s science research center will kick off its "Mars and Beyond" series with a focus on the future in space each Saturday in December.
At the events, visitors will meet a UA scientist and learn about his or her research. First up this Saturday at noon is Cathi Duncan of the Steward Observatory’s Mirror Lab. She will talk about building the world’s largest mirrors for telescopes.
Other programs this month include growing food on Mars, tracking objects that might strike the Earth, the OSIRIS-Rex asteroid mission and taking space images at the UA Sky Center.
The programs are included in Biosphere 2’s regular admission price. The science facility is located on Highway 77 about 25 miles north of Tucson.
