No More Car Sales For Phoenix Used Car Dealership Accused Of Fraud

A used car dealership in Phoenix is out of the car selling game after being accused of fraud.

The owners of Uncle Joe's Auto Sales, located near 24th Street and Bell Road, have been ordered to pay $70,000 in restitution following an investigation by the Attorney General's Office that found the business violated the state's Consumer Fraud Act.

Owners Joseph and Gina Colombo were also banned from owning, operating, or managing any kind of vehicle sales or finance business in Arizona.

“This dealership targeted Arizona families with no credit or poor credit, charging them outrageous fees,” said Attorney General Mark Brnovich in a press release Monday. “Buying a car is a major investment for most families and this office will continue to take a tough stance against used car scams and auto dealer fraud.”

The Attorney General’s Office said they received more than 30 complaints about Uncle Joe’s, even though the business was only open for about 8 months.
