Valley fans of independent films and those that could never be described as blockbusters have lost their favorite hangout.
The Harkins Camelview 5 theatre, which has been around since 1973, closes this week. Dan Harkins, who runs the Harkins Theatre Chain, will be opening a new 14-screen theater across the street at Scottsdale Fashion Square next week.
Dan Harkins, Arizona Republic film critic Bill Goodykoontz and architectural writer Walt Lockley spoke about the change.
