Maricopa County plans to renovate a 60 year old housing project that was once slated for demolition.
The Board of Supervisors approved a $25 million bond to help finance the renovation of what’s known as the Coffelt Lamoreaux development near 19 th Ave. and Buckeye. The county planned to demolish in 2012 due to “severe obsolescence,” a state in which an object is unwanted despite being in working order, but it was kept open because it would have likely forced the closing of a nearby school.
