Gilbert Town Hall will be the site Monday for a U.S. Senate field hearing on the Veterans Affairs health care system.
The Phoenix VA Health Care System was at the center of a national scandal last year about wait times and other problems that led to a system-wide overhaul.
Arizona Sen. John McCain and Sen. Jeff Flake, and Alaska Sen. Dan Sullivan are holding the hearing to examine the management of the Veterans Affairs health care system in Phoenix.
The hearing will focus on patient wait times, the quality of health care and other topics.
Witnesses will include veterans, a former employee of the Phoenix VA Health Care system and officials from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
The former director of the Phoenix VA hospital lost her job amid reports administrators falsified waiting lists in order to collect bonuses.
