Southern Arizona Congresswoman Martha McSally is lashing out against the federal government’s investigation into one of the shooters in the San Bernardino attacks.

The Tucson Republican told Fox News she’s shocked authorities in the U.S. have only recently discovered some of Tashfeen Malik’s online postings about violent Jihad.

“The bad guys are operating at the speed of broadband and the federal government is operating at the speed of bureaucracy," she said. "They’re using very old school techniques. When you’re just quarrying data bases, based on old information, that’s not keeping up with social media.”

The Pakistan-born Malik came to the U.S. on a fianee visa to marry the other attacker, Syed Farook, who was a U.S. citizen. Immigration officials do not routinely review social media as part of their background investigations. President Obama has ordered officials to review the fiance visa program, saying the terrorist threat in the U.S. is evolving to one that makes use of home-grown terrorists radicalized by jihadi propaganda and persuasion.
