Dictionary.com's word of the year is "identity."

This time of year, there are lots of lists, and designations of “insert noun of the year, here.”

Dictionaries will often declare a word of the year, and usually, it’s one that’s new to the lexicon. Dictionary.com’s word of the year is definitely not new. It’s “identity.” Jane Solomon, senior content editor and lexicographer at  Dictionary.com, spoke about the word.
