Drones are expected to be a popular gift this holiday season. But, if you live in Pima or Maricopa County, don’t plan on using them to explore their county parks.
After multiple noise complaints, the Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation department has announced they will be banning drones from all of their county-run parks.
The department also said they have received reports of individuals using the devices in ways that are harassing wildlife, which is a violation of state and federal law.
As of Dec. 21, another federal law was enacted requiring all recreational drones to be registered with the Federal Aviation Administration. But Pima county emphasizes all drones will be banned in their parks whether they’re registered or not.
Drones have also been banned from flying in Maricopa County Parks.
