Fox's 'Bordertown' Pokes Fun At US Immigration Policy

The new animated series Bordertown premieres Sunday, Jan. 3 on the Fox network.
A new animated series that attempts to poke fun at American xenophobia has come to primetime television.
In "Bordertown," the main characters are a white Border Patrol agent and Mexican-American landscaper who are neighbors in a fictional desert town near the U.S.-Mexico border.
According to the show's producers, it's a racial satire that showcases American resistance to demographic change and takes aim at politically hot topics like the border wall and Arizona's controversial SB 1070 law.
"It just shows the ridiculousness of American immigration policy and how we look for simple fixes to a complex problem," said producer and nationally-syndicated cartoonist Lalo Alcaraz.
The first episode features a red, white and blue deportation cannon that catapults suspected trespassers south of the border.
"Bordertown" comes from the creators of the animated series 'Family Guy'. The show airs at 9:30 EST on the FOX network.
