The IRS expects more than 150 million individual tax returns to be filed in 2017.

Tax season begins January 18.

Nationally, the IRS expects to get more than 150 million individual returns, including 3 million from Arizonans.

The IRS says choosing e-file and direct deposit for refunds is the fastest and safest way to file an accurate return and get a refund.

According to the agency’s website, 70 percent of the nation’s taxpayers are eligible for IRS Free File.

The filing deadline is April 18.
