Teen birth rates in Arizona continue to decline. According to a Centers for Disease Control report,that mirrors the national trend.
The United States teen birth rate declined 9 percent from 2013 to 2014 to 24.2 births per 1,000 females ages 15-19.
Between 2007 and 2014 the Arizona teen birth rate decreased more than 40 percent. The CDC reported Colorado, Connecticut and Massachusetts had the sharpest decline in births from women ages 15-19. The rates in those states dropped by more than 50 percent.
Birth rates also hit a record low in 2014 for women in their early 20’s, and 3,988,076 babies were registered in the United States in 2014. That’s a 1 percent increase from 2013.
