Refinery Maintenance In California Could Raise Low Arizona Gas Prices

If you’re traveling by vehicle this holiday, be prepared to see higher gas prices when you cross into California.

Michelle Donati with AAA said unplanned maintenance at California refineries is to blame. And she said it could raise Arizona’s prices.

“Receiving half of our fuel supply from California, you know, we are susceptible to price increases when there are issues that take place with California supply. So, this is something that we will be closely monitoring,” Donati said.

According to AAA, the average price for gas in Arizona is just under $2.00 for regular unleaded. In California, the average is $2.90.
