Arizona's high country can expect more than a foot of snow by Friday.

The National Weather Service has called for a winter weather advisory until noon Wednesday for the state’s high country. Forecasters expect a second storm early Thursday.

As much as a foot of snow could fall in Northern Arizona by the end of the week — on top of the few inches already on the ground. The National Weather Service advises drivers to expect snow-packed roads in the days ahead.

The Arizona Department of Transportation will be deploying several of its snow plows and the agency urges drivers to use caution. ADOT officials said in a press release, cars should stay back at least a hundred feet when following a snow plow. And they say if passing, don’t stay in the plow driver’s blind spot for long. If you can’t see the plow drivers, there’s a good chance they can’t see you.
