The issues of immigration and border security don’t usually lead to comfortable conversations and hearty laughter, and the emotional reactions tend not to lend themselves to humor.
The new Fox Network animated series Bordertown, though, is trying to change that. The program’s second episode airs on Sunday night. Lalo Alcaraz, a consulting producer on Bordertown and creator of the comic strip La Cucaracha, explained why animation has been a good medium for humor and talking about cultural and immigration-related issues.
