U.S. Interior Secretary Sally Jewell will be in Indian Country this week with stops in Arizona and New Mexico.
She is expected to make announcements regarding the restoration of tribal lands.
The stop in Arizona will be at Cove Day School in Red Valley. She’s expected to highlight the department’s progress in its effort to transform the federal Bureau of Indian Education including recent budget increases for new school construction and infrastructure development.
