As the winning Powerball amount nears $2 billion locations across Arizona are seeing an influx of lottery players.

Many stores across the state are providing extra staff to deal with the crowds. One Safeway in Sun City West is one of those retailers. The popularity of the store has increased since it was announced the location has doled out the most winning tickets in the state.

Nancy Keene with Safeway said they’re adding accommodations to make the process easier.

“We’re trying to get them in and out as quickly as possible. But there are a lot of people coming in. And many of them are coming in all at once. And so everything is right there, so there’s no waiting in line to fill out your actual Powerball ticket,” Keene said.

The next lottery drawing is Wednesday night.
