Historian Jack August is best known for writing or co-writing a series of biographies about prominent Arizona politicians and elected officials including Carl Hayden, Dennis DeConcini and Raul Castro.
He’s also a water expert who’s written about attorney Mark Wilmer and efforts to create the Central Arizona Project. As of this month, August is going to work for the state in the Division of Library, Archives and Public Records. He spoke about what he’ll be doing in the new position.
