Gilbert Looks To Build 272-Acre Park

Gilbert is looking to build a new city park, and it’s a big project.

The town’s proposal is for a 272-acre park south of Queen Creek Road, west of Higley Road. Officials are currently asking for feedback from residents. They could start to see some conceptual designs next month, and the park’s first phase could open as early as the spring of 2019.

Rod Buchanan, director of Gilbert’s Parks and Recreation Department, spoke about the plan.
