A wingsuit creates more surface area for fliers with fabric between the legs and under the arms.

A professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott is working on making a safer flying suit.

The issue came to the forefront after a California man wearing a wingsuit died last week in a BASE jumping accident. Timothy Sestak is in the College of Aviation, and been involved in flying, in one way or another, for most of his life.
