Valley Metro was hit by a scandal last year when former CEO Stephen Banta resigned following accusations that he misspent thousands of dollars in public funds on meals and travel.
Now the agency has turned over its leadership to former Mesa Mayor Scott Smith, who will take on the interim CEO title on February 1.
