Education is often called the equalizer in our society, the way to level the playing field for young people who came from lower-income backgrounds or not given a direct opportunity to succeed.
MacArthur fellow and civil rights leader Bob Moses started the Algebra Project in response in 1982. He's in Arizona this week to talk about the importance of math literacy in minority and low-income communities.
