Recently on Here and Now, we spoke with Lisa Allen, who is retiring after more than 20 years as the communications chief for Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
Allen said she agreed with the Sheriff most of the time, but did occasionally have to bite her tongue on certain stances he had. One example was the effort to check on President Barack Obama’s birth certificate.
