Tempe is moving the water out of its town lake and into SRP’s canal system.

The city has to replace the lake’s dam and will take about 35 days to get all the water out. It should be gone by March 15.

Eric Kamienski, the water resource manager for Tempe’s water utilities, spoke about the process and why it needs to be done. The city is projecting the lake will reopen on April 30.
