Bill Would Open Up Western Arizona To Electronic Billboards

Arizona lawmakers are debating whether to allow electronic billboards through most of La Paz and Mohave Counties. Current law only allows them along a corridor from Phoenix towards California along Interstate 10 and Interstate 8.

The push for House Bill 2507 is coming from Lamar Advertising. Tim LaSota, represents the company, talked about why his client wants to put up electronic billboards in this part of the state.

Members of the dark-skies community aren’t happy about this, including Sierra Vista resident Bob Gent, past president of the Board of Directors of the International Dark Skies Association.
