A popular trail at Saguaro National Park, west of Tucson, will be closing soon as it becomes compliant with the standards of the American’s with Disabilities Act.
The Mica View Trail will be given a hard surface to make it suitable for visitors who use a wheelchair and other equipment to assist with mobility.
The trail was identified in the 2009 Comprehensive Trails Plan to be converted into an ADA Challenge Trail. The trail will be closed starting Feb. 22 through the end of May.
It will be partially funded through grants from the Friends of Saguaro National Park and the Arizona Trails Heritage Fund.
