Time Almost Out To Register For Arizona's Presidential Preference Election

The race has been tight for potential Democrat and Republican presidential candidates.

Arizona residents will be able to cast their vote in the state’s Presidential Preference Election on March 22. That’s unless you’re a registered Independent.

Only those registered as a Republican, Democrat or Green Party member can vote in the PPE. And today is the last day to register or re-register as a party member.

Matt Roberts with the Arizona Secretary of State’s office says people are more likely to register at the last minute. “Once people start to learn about the deadline coming up, it gives them a sense of urgency that they’ve got to go and get it done,” he said.

Roberts recommends using the new online “Voter Portal” at Arizona.vote to register. Registrations can also be handled at the county recorder’s office and the any state motor vehicles department location.
