The eighth annual GreenBiz Conference kicks off Tuesday in Phoenix with presentations on sustainable supply chains and the new energy landscape, among others.

One of the ideas that will be presented is a tool developed as a collaboration between Arizona State University and the non-profit Earth Genome. It allows businesses to use data to figure out how they use water and help them use it better.

John Sabo is a senior sustainability scientist at the Global Institute of Sustainability at ASU. He developed the Green Infrastructure Support Tool and spoke about where the idea for this came from.
