The 2016 presidential campaign has been called unprecedented, unpredictable and surprising. That’s mostly been because of businessman Donald Trump’s presence at the top of most polls on the Republican side.

NPR’s Mara Liasson has covered presidential campaigns since 1992. She spoke about the uniqueness of primary season and what she’s anticipating for the fall.
