On Thursday at ASU, Dr. James Hansen, former director of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies and current professor at Columbia University’s Earth Institute, is presented his talk titled “Climate Change and Energy: How Can Justice be Achieved for Young People and Nature?”

Hansen is stressing the importance of engaging young people in climate science and action. His own research is in climate modeling, which he hopes will help young people with understanding the complexity of climate change, but says more is needed.

The Arizona Science Desk caught up with Hansen before his presentation.

Andrew Bernier was a senior field correspondent at KJZZ from 2014 to 2016.
