After former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney delivered a scathing speech about Donald Trump on Thursday, more GOP leaders are speaking out against the front runner in the race for the Republican presidential nomination — including Arizona Sens. John McCain and Jeff Flake.

Longtime Sen. John McCain called Donald Trump’s statements on national security uninformed and dangerous. And, now, Sen. Jeff Flake is echoing those concerns.

“It’s not just unconstitutional or wrongheaded, it’s the exact opposite of the type of policy we need if we’re going to win this war on terrorism,” Flake said.

Flake told KJZZ, if Trump wins the Republican nomination, he doesn’t believe he could win the White House. And the majority of Republicans are just as troubled by the businessman’s comments as he is, especially when it comes to what Flake called his “unrealistic” immigration policies.

“I think that you’ve got to have a realistic policy and it’s not a realistic policy to say that we’re going to build a wall and force the Mexican government to pay for it. You know, it may be a good line in front of a few audiences, but it’s not a serious policy position.”

Flake — who officially endorsed Florida Sen. Marco Rubio in the Republican primary — also said that we have an important trade relationship with Mexico that needs to be strengthened.
