Each year around this time, tens of thousands of people descend on Austin, Texas, for the South by Southwest festival. The largest and most well-known component of this is South by Southwest Music.
There, thousands of musicians perform in hundreds of showcases throughout the city, and folks from all across the music industry gather to network, have discussions about the state of music and its future, and to discover new music.
KJZZ’s Sarah Ventre is headed to Austin to follow bands from Arizona that will be there and talked about the diversity of music represented.
