Using Technology To Catch Archaeological Vandals

The effort to preserve and protect American Indian sites in north-central Arizona is going high tech.

The Verde Valley Archaeology Center next month is going to be testing out a device that monitors activity, among other things, and can send text or email alerts if it picks up on something. It’s being loaned to the center; another is being tested at Bandolier National Monument in New Mexico.

Ken Zoll is the executive director of the Verde Valley Archaeology Center and spoke about what they are trying to accomplish with the new technology.
