The University of Arizona’s business parks will be spotlighted for the first time at the world’s largest international technology trade show in April in Germany.

The United States is the featured nation at Hannover Messe 2016. The UA and Arizona State University are among 20 academic and technology institutes invited to attend. This is the first year the international show has included universities. The groups will show off their research, business startups and global partnerships at the event.

Tech Parks Arizona will promote its Global Advantage program, designed to help international technology companies enter the North American market.

“Our strategy is really to try to identify fast-growth technology companies that are in technology sectors that are compatible with the industry base here in Southern Arizona,” said Bruce Wright, associate vice president of Tech Parks Arizona.

Wright said among the tech park’s newest tenants are energy firms from Canada and Israel.

At the trade fair, Tech Park’s exhibit will focus on six industries: advanced energy, mining technology, defense and security, bioscience, arid lands agriculture and water.

Arizona Technology Enterprises, ASU’s technology transfer organization, will bring several of its startups to the German event. Annette Kleiser will present on ASU’s research and entrepreneurship program.
