Finding a parking spot in downtown Scottsdale can be tough. While the city is working on long-term solutions to help businesses and visitors, it’s asking for public feedback on potential short-term solutions.
Through an online survey Scottsdale hopes to get a feel for some ideas, including expanding free trolley service to encourage downtown employees to park in lots farther away.
The survey also asks people if they like the idea of cutting free parking from three hours to two hours in the northeastern quadrant, which is bordered by Camelback to Indian School roads and 75th Street to Scottsdale Road. The city also wants to know if providing more information to downtown employees about mass transit and increasing signage and information about parking options would be beneficial.
Scottsdale is also considering a privately funded parking structure to replace the current free public lot along 6th Avenue.
Parking in downtown Scottsdale is free in several public lots and garages. On-street parking is also free, although there are time limitations. A map and parking information for downtown businesses and employers can be found here.
