Arizona is one of five states to get a grant from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to reduce the rates of four hospital-acquired infections.
The infections include MRSA, central line-associated bloodstream infections and catheter-associated urinary tract infections. The grant is worth $55,000 through the end of July, 2017.
Sandy Severson is the vice president for care improvement with the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association. Severson spoke about the grant.
