The Arizona Supreme Court is on the verge of getting bigger. House Bill 2537 is advancing in the state legislature.
If majorities pass the bill and Governor Doug Ducey signs it then he’d have the power to appoint two new members to the state high court. That would expand the court from five to seven justices.
Supporter Glenn Hamer of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Arizona State University law professor Paul Bender, who is opposed to the legislation, spoke about the bill.
