There may be mounting evidence in favor of the suspect who said he was not the trigger man in a handful of shootings along Interstate 10 that rocked the Valley last year.

A judge cut Leslie Merritt Jr.’s bond to zero Tuesday, paving the way for his release from jail while he awaits trial on more than a dozen felony charges. KJZZ’s Matthew Casey spoke about what happened.

Tim Eckstein, a criminal defense attorney at Osborne Maledon in Phoenix said the reaction, or lack thereof, from the prosecutor at Merritt's release is telling.
