Prescott Home Sellers See Some Of The Biggest Price Gains In US

A new report finds the average Prescott home sold for 51 percent more than the seller paid a decade ago. In Phoenix, the average homeowner sold for nearly 30 percent more than they paid nine years earlier.

According to RealtyTrac, the average price gain last month was $76,980 in Prescott and $48,500 in Phoenix. In Tucson it was $20,000, while the national average was $30,500. This mapshows price gains and losses across the country:  

While prices across the country have increased for years, RealtyTrac reports the median price remains 8 percent below its peak of $228,000 in July 2015. However, these seven markets hit new price peaks:

Boulder, Colorado

Denver, Colorado

Portland, Oregon

Fort Collins, Colorado

Austin, Texas

Greeley, Ohio

Cincinnati, Ohio
