The Valley has changed dramatically over the past half-century. As the population has grown so has the arts scene, the number of professional sports teams and the variety of restaurants.
In those 50 years Phoenix Magazine has chronicled change and featured some of the area's most interesting and creative people. The May issue marks the publication's 50th anniversary.
