Election Day for Proposition 123 is May 17, though early ballots have already gone out. The measure would make changes to the state land trust as part of $3.5 billion in funding for K-12 schools in Arizona.

But even with Arizona Treasurer Jeff Dewit’s negative comments about the initiative, the organized effort in favor of it has raised a lot more money and generated a lot more support. That doesn’t mean concerns haven’t been raised, in part about whether voters can trust Gov. Doug Ducey and lawmakers to recommit to K-12 funding on top of what Proposition 123 would do.

We discussed the issue with Bob Robb of the Arizona Republic and Julie Erfle, communications consultant for Erfle Uncuffed.
