Gilbert School Board Votes To Keep Gilbert Junior High Open

Gilbert’s growth has been an issue for its schools. A few months back, there was a debate over where to move Gilbert Classical Academy (GCA). The school board was considering options including closing Gilbert Junior High.

This week, the board decided against that, and will instead set up a school-within-a-school, with GCA moving into Mesquite Junior High.

Lisa Nicita has three kids who’ll go to Gilbert Junior High and had been working to keep the school open. She shared her thoughts on the decision.
