A section of the Loop 101 in north Scottsdale will be closed over the weekend. The closure may affect traffic in other areas.
The Arizona Department of Transpiration will close Southbound Loop 101 between Shea Boulevard and Via de Ventura starting at 10 p.m. Friday through early Monday morning.
The agency is paving the roadway with rubberized asphalt.
That leaves Hayden and Pima roads as alternative southbound routes.
ADOT recommends planning ahead and allowing for extra travel time while the restrictions are in place.
