We know drones hover among us — but now we have a better idea of where they actually are. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on Wednesday released data on drones registered by zip code.
The FAA began requiring drone operators to register unmanned aircraft weighing more than half a pound and less than 55 pounds back in December.
More than 11,000 hobbyist and 150 non-hobbyist drones are registered with the FAA to Arizona zip codes, and it's no surprise that most are in Maricopa County. Mesa zip code 85207 has the most registrations in the state with 144.
The zip code 75070, in McKinney, Texas, has the most registrations in the United States with 241.
