Long lines at TSA checkpoints means at least one airline is trying to improve the situation at Sky Harbor Airport. American Airlines is spending an additional $4 million to hire contract personnel to support TSA workers.
Ross Feinstein with American Airlines says, "What we’re going to try to do is put our contract personnel in positions, for example, that do not require screening function. For example, moving bins from the back of the check point to the front of the check point."
Feinstein says American Airlines is also looking at using canine teams in the future. He says if contract staff are not already in place at Sky Harbor, they will be soon.
