Low Income Arizonans Struggle To Find Affordable Housing

Arizona residents have to earn more than $17 an hour to afford to rent a two-bedroom apartment. The state’s minimum wage is $8.05 an hour. According to a new report, that means there are a lot of Arizonans struggling to find affordable housing.

Andrew Aurand is vice president for Research with the National Low Income Housing Coalition, which put out the study, called “Out of Reach.” It looks at the gap between what rental housing costs and what people earn.
